Investors should put themselves in the shoes of a lender when a company is having financial trouble. Lenders will immediately review the most important loan documents—and so should the investor. Next, review the company-generated reports to understand its collateral and available courses of action. Assuming the enterprise should continue, the process of a turnaround begins. The authors lay out each stage, its objectives, and the tasks involved.
