Abstract
Many private equity firms, faced with a deteriorating situation in a portfolio company, try to fix it internally. Often that means throwing more money at the situation, often the worst possible solution. These situations require the skills and mindset of a turnaround professional. This article describes the role of a turnaround professional, and how to go about finding the one best suited for the troubled situation.
